Dear me, the summer holidays appeared and ran away with me! I've been far too busy holidaying, day tripping and generally lazing on the sofa to have any bloggable stuff for the blog!
However, some commissions have gone out to find new homes and so can be shown, hurrah!
This was a super fun brief! My friend's ic group leader is expecting and as the baby has apparently been referred to as the tree of life, they wanted a tree larp costume for a 6-9 month baby (kit aged to when they might see the little one in the field!).
I found a great brown textured jersey to be the 'tree trunk' and a lovely mossy green fleece for the main 'leaf' colour.
I made a t-shirt and leggings for the baby, to be the trunk as it were and for fun I appliqued a birds nest onto the top.
For the poncho, I cut out a load of leaf shapes from scrap fabric and appliqued it over the fleece, then added a wooden button as a closure.
It was so fun to come up with! I really enjoyed making this and I hope the small one enjoys wearing it!
