Red Patchwork Bag

I made a new bag for a client in their requested red and black colour scheme.

It's made from my scrap bag collection so excellent for recycling purposes and it's lined in black lining fabric.

Isn't it pretty?

Dr Who Bag

I made this for an online gift swap!  I do love a bit of bag making!

It's made of cottong drill and is unlined.  The embroidery is a free pattern I found online and done by hand.

It took a while, but I really enjoyed making it!

Sword Bag

I finally got a synthetic training sword!  It's super cool but as it's not advisable to carry swords in public (even plastic ones) I needed a bag for it.

Here's my handy model showing off my shiny new sword!  I wanted my sword bag to match my kit bag and luckily I still had some of the fabric so...

The bag is made from rose printed chambray and denim, with a herringbone tape strap and green bias binding and trim.

The construction is a simple draw string bag made to fit my sword and tapered so as not to be too baggy at the pointy end.

As you can see it matches my kit bag and the sheer frivolity of it makes me grin every time I see it!

Bag Embroidery

I had such fun sewing this for a dear friend!

It's embroidered on calico and I made it into a self lined bag with red top stitching for a nice contrast.

The pattern is from Urban Threads and I thoroughly recommend them!

Project Bags

Yep, still on Christmas gifts (I think this is the last week though)!  I made a couple of friends a project/makeup bag each.

This one is black faux brocade and lined in green cotton with a grey zip.

This one is purple cotton, lined in cream and with a purple decorative zip.  Fairly simple construction but I enjoyed making pretty things for friends!

Birthday Gift - Cherry Bag

It's a very busy time of year for birthdays right now!  I made this for a friend who plays a cherry tree druid and wanted a small bag specifically for that character.

It's made of black velvet and lined with red cotton.

I used buttons for the cherries and a leaf ribbon plus some lines of green embroidery to complete the look. The drawstring is black velvet and the channel and top of the back are done in red cotton bias binding.

Birthday Project Bag

I freely admit I enjoy making bags!  So much so they are my go to gift to make and when a friend had a birthday recently I knew a project bag for her knitting would be just be the thing.

It's black velvet, lined with baby blue satin and the drawstring channel is made of an embroidered ribbon.  The drawstring itself is a satin ribbon.

It's a simple bag but I think the richness of the fabrics and the prettiness of the ribbon are just right.

One of these days I need to make myself some more project bags!
