Birthday Dress In 3!

What Katy really wanted for her birthday was to have a dress that matched me and Lizard.  Obviously I obliged!

Matchy Matchy!  We love a bit of matching!

The fabric is a delightful t-shirting print and I still have some leftovers, so there will be some more items made from it!

Katy's dress has a cross over bodice and is fully lined as are the sleeves.  It has a circle skirt and hemming it took as long as making the entire bodice!

 Lizard's dress has a t-shirt style bodice, which is lined and t-shirt sleeves which are not.  It's skirt is a gathered rectangle and it has a ribbon waistband.

 I am so in love with these dresses!

I totally failed to get a photo of mine, so you will have to wait to see it on another day!  But mine has a t-shirt bodice and a 2/3 circle skirt and is unlined.

Don't we all look amazing?

Sunflower Dress Mini Me

Clearly, the best way to accessorise your new dress is with an adorable matching small person, right?

Lizard refused to stay still though, so you'll all have to wait for better pictures in the spring when we've planned a photoshoot for both of us!

Happy Birthday Me Part 2

On my actual Birthday we visited Arnos Vale.  Possibly not to everyone's taste but I had a lovely time!

This time, I wore a circle with an Alabama Chanin t-shirt bodice and a circle skirt which was drafted by the fabulously talented Katy (who also helped sew it, because I decided I needed this dress with less than 48hrs before I actually needed to put it on because I'm clever like that...)

The petticoat is one I already owned and the waist sash was very hastily made from faux satin.  The dress itself is a gorgeous floral print t-shirting.

It's a very fun outfit and I can't wait to wear it again!

That said, petticoats add quite a weight to you, don't they?

 Lots of photos, because why not?

Parasols, incidentally, are amazing and I encourage everyone I know to acquire one!

Tiny T-Shirts

I had a small amount of the owl fabric leftover so I ran up some t-shirts for Small Bean and Tiny Bean (who are both growing fast these days and in need of better  nicknames I think).

I used a free pattern from Melly Sews I think.  The sleeves and bottoms are unhemmed as I did not have enough fabric to sew hem bands!

I think they look quite sweet and I hope a)  they fit and b) the girls like them!

Looking Ahead To Summer

I made the two smallest pseudo nieces a new summer frock each.

Pink t-shirting with a silver crown print.

I used the a-line dress pattern that I love so much, and added ruffled sleeves and a ruffle on the hem.

Lizard was extremely impressed at her new dress and insisted on wearing it immediately

 It is a little large (huge in fact), but madam was still impressed!  So we had a hot chocolate to celebrate!

Catty asked for one as well, but was refused as cats and chocolate do not mix!

Tiny Dress

So, on Monday I showed you my Cheshire Cat Inspiration dress.  What I didn't tell you is I also made it in mini!

This was for Starbug, so she could match her mum!  I am so in love with the dinky sleeves!

It more or less fits as well, which is always a handy bonus (She's still too small for her birth gift!)

Cheshire Cat Inspiration Dress

I love Alice in Wonderland and in the summer I am hoping to have a very special Alice project to show you.  But for now, let me show you this Cheshire Cat inspired dress I made for a friend's Christmas gift.

It's a mash up of Alabama Chanin patterns and all the seams are on the outside on purpose.  I used pink and purple t-shirting and I really enjoyed making this!

I am now wondering about making a stripey dress for me!

Rose T-Shirt

After I made my last dress, I found I had just enough fabric to run myself up a t-shirt!

 I am so pleased with this shirt!  I might even like it more than my dress!

 It is, as all my t-shirts are, made using the Alabama Chanin pattern!

 The problem with standing under a hole in a barn door that swallows use to get to their nests is that you get a bit dive bombed by swallows!

For novelty value for you, dear reader, Mr Kit and I took these photo's on a farm whilst we were on holiday.  I got some amazing fabric that I can't wait to show you!

Tiny Top

I made a thing for Starbug,

I don't see why girls can't have swords and ruffles.  I mean, I do!  I based it off this pattern from Fleece is Fun, but added the sleeve and hem ruffles myself.

Stars Part Two

So, I told you about my starry dress, but did I tell you about the other one I made?

Obviously, it's super important to accessorize your goddaughter to match your outfit, right?

I made her a slightly modified version of the Cottage Mama party dress, with button fastenings on the shoulders.  I added a ribbon for her waistband in case it was a bit baggy and called it job done.

Isn't she a awesome?  (I'm a very proud Godmother, just in case you hadn't guessed!)
