Tiny T-Shirts

I had a small amount of the owl fabric leftover so I ran up some t-shirts for Small Bean and Tiny Bean (who are both growing fast these days and in need of better  nicknames I think).

I used a free pattern from Melly Sews I think.  The sleeves and bottoms are unhemmed as I did not have enough fabric to sew hem bands!

I think they look quite sweet and I hope a)  they fit and b) the girls like them!

Owl Nightie

This is a very belated Birthday gift!

I found the owl tshirting and knew it was perfect, but I wasn't sure what to make from it.  Lucky for me I got suggestions and this nightie was born!  It's loosely based on the Alabama Chanin  patterns but adapted for a more relaxed fit and I deliberately left it unhemmed in case it's too long and needs a chop!

HEMA Kit Bag

I made my friend a bag to store his swords and protective gear for HEMA in.  It is stupidly large!

Made of cotton drill, with a central zipper and webbing straps.  It's quilted with half an old curtain in it for a bit of strength!

Here's a slightly dodgy pic of it with my bag for scale!

Wrap Around Skirt

Apologies for the poor photos of this - it was made and given away in a very short time frame!

My good friend Yarrow has recently had major knee surgery and for a while after he just needed something simple to put on to preserve dignity and so - a wrap around skirt with phone pocket was made!

It's black polycotton and I used this pattern.

I really liked the shaping darts and I think it came out quite smart!  Yarrow and I agree it puts us both in mind of a utility kilt.

Lizard's First Stitches!

Well...  She has crafting parents and me as one of her godmothers.  What did you expect?!

She also did some 'sewing' for her Mama's birthday!

I hope she grows up with a love of sewing and respect for those who handmake things!

Embriodery Hoop Art

So, things rarely stay serious when Katy and I are chatting and sometimes we end up saying things wrong.  A few months back Katy came out with this gem "Swift as a fox, cunning as a badger!"

For reasons even we're not sure of, we keep saying this, so what better to put on a quote embroidery for her?!

I also added a daffodil embroidery, using a free pattern from Oh Sew Bootiful, because I know she likes daffodils!

A Pencil Case

Birthday gift time again here!  I made Katy a trimmed pencil case for her birthday!

Look at how neatly I got the sides lined up!
