As I was in Wales at the weekend I missed seeing my mother for Mother's Day. Instead I posted her a small parcel containing these!
Embroidered hankies as mum apparently needed some new ones and enjoys hand made presents.
They have her initials in backstitch and a lazy daisy stitch flower with a french knot centre.
I made a set of four and they are plain white cotton, machine hemmed.
I was quite pleased at how they've turned out!

Squirrel!
I was away at the 24HR at the weekend. I hope you had a lovely weekend (I know I did!) but no crafting to show today. Enjoy these picture of a local squirrel and on Thursday I'll have a new make to show you.

Penguin Skirt
So, fun fact about Lizard. If you ask her to make the sign language sing for penguin she giggles and points to herself. Super cute, right? Penguins are one of her favourite animals, so when I came across an offcut of penguin t-shirting I knew it had to come home with me.
Lizard gave it her approval and as it was a perfect rectangle a simple skirt was born!
It's gathered onto an elasticated waistband which, for the ultimate in lazy sewing I left visible. Lizard insisted on putting it on, straight away, over her dress so I think it's popular!
It is a little big though, so it does rather slide down at the moment!

Mini Poncho!
You're never to early to start cosplaying, right? So with that in mind I give you Lizard in her Captain Helyanwe poncho!
Obviously Hel would never be seen in pink, but Lizard makes her own clothing choices and isn't fussed about cosplay accuracy at this point in her life!
That said she does enjoy pootling around in her poncho and hopefully it'll be a handy layer for when she heads into the field later in the year!

A View
I've been so busy planting bulbs and hanging out with visiting small people that sewing has rather taken a back seat recently. Instead, have a picture of the view from my craft room the other day.
I love living here!

Birthday Bag
When I saw this embroidery design I just knew I needed to put it on something for Smyrna!
A funky little bag was born!
I added a lacy zip and lined it with bird fabric (another thing I reckoned she'd like!)
I boxed the bottom corners to give it a ability to stand and overlocked the inside seams.
Overall I was really happy with how it turned out!

New Green T-shirt
Awful phone selfies today because I forgot to get any better pictures but I'd like to show this top off!
This is my favourite colour! I couldn't resist the fabric when I found it in my little local fabric shop.
This is of course, my favourite Alabama Chanin pattern, though I made the neckline a v-neck just to see if I could.
Really awful photo here, sorry, but look! Rainbow topstitching, just for fun!

Odd Socks
A friend had a birthday party at the weekend and on the advice of his beloved other half I made him this!
It's to help him sort laundry apparently. I embroidered the words onto undyed calico in a varigated silk thread.
I then added a circular bottom and made a running channel at the top into which I inserted boning. I then added a sizeable hanging strap.
As a happy bonus this bag/bin stands up on it's own!

Walk!
No new reveals until my new phone catches up with all my photos! In the meantime please enjoy this adorable photo of Lizard insisting on carrying the shopping home.
