It was our old lodgers birthday a few days ago and her boyfriend suggested that she needed some faux taxidermy for her new place. Well what am I but ever obliging? (Especially when he finds a pattern for me!)
This is Simplicity 1218 and was really good to sew! It's made of fleece with a satin horn and toy eyes.
I loved sewing this and the pattern has a few other variations, so watch out I forsee more faux taxidermy in my future!
Nightmare pony anyone?

Baking
Sorry for missing last week - I was on my holidays and I thought' I'd queued some posts up but apparently I wasn't that organised...
Anyway, I didn't craft a lot last week, so here, have some photos of my most recent bakes!
This is an apple and blackberry crumble cake. I made this for my vampire larp and it all disappeared so I think it was popular! Recipe can be found here (I cheated and used my own crumble mix though, because I had some anyway).
These are gluten free flapjacks cooling. Mostly so my beloved could also have cake (he's not allowed gluten anymore on doctors orders, which does occasionally make cookery tricky). I use this recipe and add way more sultanas than are called for!

Fan Wall Hanging
I made a wall hanging for my mother's birthday!
The quilt block pattern is apparently called My Grandmother's Fan and the fabrics I've used are from my wedding and various evening dresses of my mother's from over the years.
The pockets are to give her hanging options and doesn't the quilting look cute on the back?
I was quite pleased with how this turned out in the end!

Milo's Bling Robe
Made a bit of kit for my friend ready for the new campaign in October. It's a pretty robe to fancy the rest of his kit up a bit.
The outside is satin dupion and it's lined in faux brocade. It's collarless, but has lapels (for bling) and is trimmed with a narrow satin ribbon and a wider woven band.
Over all I'm quite pleased with it!

Workout Outfit
I tried climbing (bouldering) for the first time a few weeks ago! Of course, that was the hottest week we've had so far this year and I knew the climbing place was going to be warm. So, I ran up a pair of trousers and altered a top I got in the Next Sale for a super lightweight climbing outfit.
The trousers are the same as my 'lounging trousers' and are made out of t-shirting, to be as light as I could make them.
The top was originally a t-shirt from Next, which I picked up in the sale for £6. I used a tutorial I found on Pinterest to edit it and I'm quite pleased with the end results. Now I have a nice cool work out outfit which I can also use in the gym and for HEMA when it's too hot.
As for climbing - I went up walls with varying degrees of success.
