Bread

I'm at a spa today!  So have a quick pic of one of the (many) loaves of bread I've been making recently.  I've really enjoyed my breadmaker recently!

Anastacia Gown Part Two

Just lots of pretty pics for you to enjoy!  Check out Christine's amazing wings she made herself and the gorgeous horns!

 Wings!

This is what happens when you ask Christine to look grumpy!

She stopped giggling eventually!

Seriously, wings!!  She's so talented!

I then pretended like I was a real photographer and got all arsty fartsy!

And lastly, I was entranced by how pretty the wings and dress are from the back!

Anastacia Gown

Another CoT make!  Here is my fellow 1880s vampire larper, beautiful Christine in her Convention of Thorns gown!

I've been working on this (on and off) since April I think and it has been such fun!

Christine knew she wanted autmnal colours and we settled on green and orangey gold almost immediately.

The pattern is Butterick B4571.  I edited it to be a separate underskirt and overgown though.

As you can see, it is gloriously swishy!

The overgown is cotton velvet and the contrast and skirt fabric is a faux silk I think.  It's trimmed in gold lace and green and gold satin ribbon.

I also made a 'pocket' to hang of her belt so she's got somewhere to stash things like her character sheet!

Have some detail shots!

And on Thursday I'll show you the photos we took of Christine in her full kit because she looks amazing!

Chemise

I've been sewing for people off to the Convention of Thorns in October!

Made my awesome friend Harry a white cotton chemise.  The pattern is my own!

The sleeves have a satin bias binding channel at the wrist, which has been elasticated and then a long cuff.

The neck is gathered with a satin ribbon drawstring.

Silly pics to round us off!

Cushions!

I took a long time to make these, but I really enjoyed it!

These were made for my lovely Mother-In-Law, to match the one I made her for Christmas!

This one is a 16 block patchwork in linen look cotton, satin and cotton.  All the cushions were piped with taffeta!

This one was hand embroidered and framed with poly cotton.

A very simple 4 square patchwork block!

More hand embroidery, this one is framed with linen look cotton.

A plain taffeta cushion!

As you can see here, all of them have simple envelope backs.

Discworld Con 2018 Part 3

Gala Dinner night!

As the theme this con was Guards Guards, I went as Sybil Ramkin.

Found a fancy staircase to pose on!

My apron was made by the fabulous Stardust Larpcraft

My ball gown is Simplicity 1728 and I'm wearing it uncorseted here, but I intend to make a second bodice for my corseted shape in October.
