Going on Hiatus

I'm not enjoying writing this blog atm, so I'm putting it on hold for a little while.

Enjoy this lovely bee till I get back!

Black Goth Mask

Another commission!  Also for an upcoming vampire ball, this one I was requested to make black, gothic and have skulls.

I added a selection of jet beads, sequins, seed beads and skull beads all in black, but my favourite addition is the black feathers!  I think they add height and drama and I love them!

Stained Yellow Mask

I loved making this!  It was a commission for a vampire game.  The character stains everything he touches, so I stained the mask and used darker beads to make it look like the stain touched them too.

It has seed beads, little skull beads and fake gems all hand stitched.

Enteri and Skirt - Legacy Kit

Please excuse the dodgy photos!  Once again these are my last minute making test pics!

This blue robe is another Folkwear pattern - the Enteri.  I made it out of stretch velvet, which is not at all the correct fabric, but it was in my stash so I went for it!

My skirt did not have a pattern,  I just pleated a load of cotton down to my waist and added a waistband.  I had this cotton in my stash as well which was lucky!  Especially as feathers are one of the symbols of the Curator who we follow IC.

The eagle eyed amongst you might recognise the chiffon of my veil from my evening gown I made to wear to the Mansion House.  I had left over chiffon as well so I used the embroidery machine to add feathers to it!

Katy made me a hat to pin my veil to and I was all set!  The pic of me in the hat is the only one I actually took of myself all event - too busy having fun to remember photos for this blog!

Burnoose

I've started playing ina new to me fest larp called Legacy.  It's great fun!

Anyway, I always worry about being cold so one of the first things I did was run up a cloak to stay warm in!

Please excuse the late night phone selfies, I made all my kit in just under a week!  This is the Folkwear burnoose pattern and it is a lovely sew!

I ended up not actually wearing this IC as it was so warm at the event!  Though, it did come in handy to throw over my pyjamas and head on a late night bathroom run!

I love the tassel on the hood!  And I really want to make more of these!

Dino Tail

A small has had a birthday and what they really, really wanted was a dino tail so I obliged!

Excuse the poor photos, due to the hurry I made this in I did not have a lot of time to do anything beyond a hurried quick snap!

It's made of green fleece with grey fleece to be the spikes!

Mushroom Birthday Cake

I know I say this every year, but I really do think this is the best cake I've ever made!

It's a three tier vanilla cake with chocolate butter cream and fondant mushrooms.

I coloured some of the buttercream green and piped vines up the side and added little sugarpaste flowers.

It wasn't the design I'd intended, but I love it anyway!

Red Patchwork Bag

I made a new bag for a client in their requested red and black colour scheme.

It's made from my scrap bag collection so excellent for recycling purposes and it's lined in black lining fabric.

Isn't it pretty?

New Bag for Valentina

I needed a new bag to store Valentina's in character embroidery, so I ran this up!

I used the embroidery machine to do the motif (yes I could do it by hand, but I was very short on time!).  The button is a vintage one from a friend's grandmother's collection.  I bound it with a scrap of satin bias tape and it's lined in the same cotton as the outside.

Faux Enamel Headband

I made white faux enamel flowers and designed a headband of my own!

Isn't it pretty?  I love how delicate it is!  It's a wire headband shape, which I formed by bending wire on my head and then wrapping it in ribbon.  The ends are loops and a ribbon threads through them and ties underneath my hair.

This is it on my hair - I tied it on at 10am and it was still in place at 2am the next day!

This photo is by the insanely talented Jonathan Habens and you can see how it sparkles in my hair!

Another Jon Habens pic, just because!

Gift Purse

The last of my online swap gifts - I made a teeny rainbow dragon purse, beacuse, well, why not?

It's blue satin and lined in white cotton lawn with a nazy zipper!

Lizard was super impressed that it matched her new 'rainbow dollshouse blanket' (an offcut from another project I'll show you another time!).

Gift Pouch

Another gift from ym online swap!

It's a machine embroidery I got from etsy and I added the name myself.

The outer is black cotton drill and the inner is red lining fabric.  The zipper is black and I'm really pleased with it!

Birthday Dress In 3!

What Katy really wanted for her birthday was to have a dress that matched me and Lizard.  Obviously I obliged!

Matchy Matchy!  We love a bit of matching!

The fabric is a delightful t-shirting print and I still have some leftovers, so there will be some more items made from it!

Katy's dress has a cross over bodice and is fully lined as are the sleeves.  It has a circle skirt and hemming it took as long as making the entire bodice!

Lizard's dress has a t-shirt style bodice, which is lined and t-shirt sleeves which are not.  It's skirt is a gathered rectangle and it has a ribbon waistband.

I am so in love with these dresses!

I totally failed to get a photo of mine, so you will have to wait to see it on another day!  But mine has a t-shirt bodice and a 2/3 circle skirt and is unlined.

Don't we all look amazing?
